NYSTCE Physics Examination Overview

NYSTCE Physics Exam – Admission

The NYSTCE Physics Exam evaluates the candidate’s ability intended for orientation and standardizing the quality of education especially on Physics subject. Requirements include that the applicant be a bachelor degree holder from a national or state university and must be a passer of the liberal arts and science test and also the science test and assessment of teaching skills exam. NYSTCE Physics Exam – Presentation

The NYSTCE Physics Exam will be composed of 90 multiple choice objective and a subjective question within the evaluative scale range of 300, out of which 220 will be the minimum marks required for the qualification. The exam’s time duration is 240 minutes. Candidate must answer as many questions as they can as there is no negative marking for wrong answer. If the examinee fails, the examinee must be present again for the next examination after 30 days.

•  Fundamentals of Science– theories, observation and experimentation, historical and contemporary importance of physics, gathering scientific data, measurement principles and procedures (an open ended query is formed from this topic)

•  Waves, Sound and Light- properties of waves, electromagnetic waves, reflective are refractive devices, sound waves

•  Quantum Theory and Atom– wave, dual nature of light, atomic structure, nuclear physics and radioactivity

•  Mechanics and Thermodynamics –force, laws of motion, work, energy and power, motion one dimension and two dimension, circular motion, laws of thermodynamics, simple harmonic motion

•  Electricity and Magnetism– electric charge, electric field, AC circuits, DC circuit, electromagnetism, electric potential
