The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) conducts the FTCE Visually Impaired K-12 Exam to grant educators, who are willing to teach the visually impaired, certifications that allow them to practice legally in the state. There are two certifications available, professional and temporary. Professional certifications are valid for five academic years and are renewable while temporary certifications are valid for only three academic tears and are non-renewable.
