FTCE Florida Mathematics 6-12 Examination Information Guide

Mathematics is a somewhat troublesome subject as it requires understanding and patience to teach students. Educators who wish to teach this subject must be considerate to their students and should be accurate enough in answering math problems. The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) conducts the FTCE Mathematics Exam and grants certifications to applicants who pass the exam. These certifications allow the educators to teach in the state. Candidates can opt for either a professional certification, which is valid for five years and is renewable; or a temporary certification, which is only valid for three years and is non-renewable. Each certification has different requirements and eligibilities in which the candidate needs to comply with these to be qualified for the certifications.

Eligibility Requirements for FTCE Florida Mathematics 6-12 Examination

To be eligible for the FTCE Mathematics Exam, candidates need to follow certain guidelines issued by the board. In applying for a professional certification, candidates need to have a bachelor degree and also master degree in mathematics. For temporary certifications, candidates need to have a 2.5 GPA in Mathematics in addition to their bachelor degree.

Candidates also need to submit finger prints report to the board. An applicant will get the certification if only and only if he submits the report to the board after the exam.

The mathematics exam covers several topics that are to be taught to students at levels 6-12. The FTCE Mathematics Exam includes:

The FTCE Mathematics Exam constitutes 80 multiple choice questions. The total duration for completing the exam is 150 minutes. FTCE Mathematics Exam includes following types of queries:
