NES Essential Academic Skills Test - View Topics and Passing Scores of Exam

Advance Information for NES Essential Academic Skills Test


NES Essential Academic Skills is composed of four subtest - Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Technology. Each subtests have different format and properties. Reading subtest is composed of 45 multiple-choice question in which candidate should complete the exam for only one hour. The national benchmark score for this subtest is 220. Testing fees for this subtest are as follows: $50 for one Essential Academic Skills subtest, $75 for any two Essential Academic Skills subtests, $100 for any three Essential Academic Skills subtests and $125 for all four Essential Academic Skills subtests. Writing subtest is composed of 36 multiple-choice question and 1 written assignment. Candidates will be given one hour and 15 minutes to complete this subtest. Mathematics subtest is composed of 45 multiple-choice question and candidates will be given one hour to complete the subtest. Lastly, Technology subtest composed of 36 multiple-choice question and candidates will be given 45 minutes.
